2-day practice match: Zimbabwe score 291/7

The touring Zimbabwe Cricket team scored 291 for the loss of seven wickets in the first innings against Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI on the first day of the two-day practice match at the BKSP Ground in Savar on Tuesday.
Zimbabwe made a good start as openers Prince Masvaure and Kevin Kasuza put on together 105 runs before Prince was caught behind by wicketkeeper Akbar Ali off Al-Amin.
Kasuza notched up a painstaking 70 from 130 balls. He hit 12 fours before he was run out by Parvez Hossain Emon when Zimbabwe’s score was 177 for the loss of six wickets.
Then Timysen Maruma and Carl Mumba contributed 49 runs before Maruma was caught by Rishad Hossain off Al-Amin when Zimbabwe’s total was 226 for the loss of seven wickets.
After Maruma’s dismissal, Carl Mumba and Ainsley Ndlova added together 65 runs for the unbroken eighth wicket partnership before the two umpires pocketted the bails for the first day.
Mumba remained unbeaten with 54. He hit four fours and a sixer in his 105-ball knock.
Opener Prince made a polished 45. His 77-ball innings was laced with seven fours.
Maruma made 34 from 89 balls with two fours and a sixer.
Ndlovu remained unbeaten with 25. His 44-ball knock saw three fours.
Youngster Shahadat Hossain bowled really well. He grabbed three wickets at the cost of 16 runs, while Al-Amin captured two wickets instead of 40 runs.
Shriful Islam picked up one wicket for 45 runs.
It may be mentioned that a good number of cricketers of Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team have taken part in the ongoing two-day practice match against the touring Zimbabwe team. Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team emerged as the champions in the ICC Under-19 World Cup, which concluded recently at Pochefstroom in South Africa.
