The two-day practice match between touring Zimbabwe Cricket team and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI ended in a draw on the second and final day at BKSP Ground in Savar on Wednesday.
Zimbabwe declared their first innings making 291 for the loss of seven wickets on the second day.
In reply, BCB XI scored 288 for the loss of five wickets thanks to Tanzid Hasan and Al-Amin who hit unbeaten centuries before the bails were drawn on the final day.
BCB XI had a shaky start as they lost early three wickets for 39 runs.
Then third-down Al-Amin and opener Parvez Hossain Emon mended the innings contributing together 29 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Parvez Hossain was caught by Victor Nyauchi off Ainsley Ndlovu when BCB XI’s score was 68 for the loss of four wickets.
After Hossain’s dismissal, wicketkeeper-batsman Akbar Al was bowled out by Tinotenda Mutombodzi when the team’s total 69 for the loss of five wickets.
Then Al-Amin and Tanzid Hasan paved their path smooth adding together 219 runs for the unbroken sixth wicket partnership.
Tanzid Hasan remained unbeaten 125. He hit 14 fours and five sixers in his 99-ball terrific innings.
Al-Amin remained unbeaten with 100. He struck 16 fours in his 145-ball captain’s knock.
Parvez Hossain made 34 from 66 balls featuring four fours and a sixer.
Ainsley Ndlovu was his team’s most successful bowler. He bagged two wickets at the cost of 51 runs.
Charlton Tshuma, Carl Mumba and Tinotenda Mutombodzi got one wicket each conceding 23, 37 and 45 runs respectively.
Earlier, Kevin Kasuza, Carl Mumba and Prince Masvaure shone with the willow scoring 70, 54 (not out) and 45 runs respectively.
On the other hand, Shahadat Hossain was the most successful bowler in the practice match. He captured three wickets instead of 16 runs. Al-Amin picked up two wickets for 40 runs.
