Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury’s lungs have been infected with Covid pneumonia.
In a post on its verified Facebook page, Gonoshasthaya Kendra said, “Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury’s overall physical condition is unchanged. His lungs have infected with Covid pneumonia.” It also said Dr Zafrullah is being given adequate oxygen and antibiotics alongside regular dialysis and chest physiotherapy.
His blood pressure and other clinical conditions are stable as he has been receiving treatment at Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in the city’s Dhanmondi area under the supervision of Brig Dr Mamun Mustafiz and Prof Dr Najib.
Zafrullah tested positive for coronavirus on May 25 and he was given plasma therapy thrice to beat the deadly virus.
