Grameen Phone Smartphone and Tab Expo witnessed a huge gathering in the second day of fair due to public holiday at the premises of Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city.
According to the organizer, the fair on Friday witnessed a large crowd specially the young generation. The youths were found roaming around the stalls.
Participant companies are happy and expressed satisfaction over the increasing trend of public gathering. Authorities said, the fair has got momentum from the beginning of the day.
Sales manager and marketing executive of different mobile companies expressed satisfaction to observe the huge gathering.
Country’s largest mobile phone operator has launched exclusive new services and offers for its customers in the fair.
The leading telecom operator in the country has announced a special starting EMI of only Tk 2,563 for its Star customers and only Tk 5,125 for general customers (only in pre-order stage) on Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. GP customers obtaining this service will get a 1 year Apple warranty on the products, and a 50 per cent discount on Heavy Browsing Nonstop Internet, which can be obtained 8 times in 2 months with 30 days validity. The stall was seen packed with visitors who acquiring information about the new gadgets and purchasing cell phones from the offer.
Samsung Media Manager Mahjabin Ferdous said that one of the biggest attractions of the stall is the virtual reality. The visitors seemed to be happy to know about the virtual reality for the first time.
‘We are mostly marketing the user-friendly products in Bangladesh. The affordability for all society is also considered’, Mahjabin said.

ICT state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak has inaugurated the expo on Thursday. This is the fifth exhibition of Smartphone and tab expo, organised by Expo Maker.
The title sponsor of this expo is Grameen Phone and the co sponsors are Elite, Huwaei, Samsung and Symphony Mobile.
The exposition will remain open from 10:00am to 8:00pm till today (Saturday) with Tk 20 entry fee. But the students and the physically challenged people’s entry are free upon showing their identification cards.
The sum of the sold tickets will be donated for the treatment of cancer patient Journalist Latiful Hoque and in humanitarian projects of Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF).
