A youth died after allegedly taking toxic liquor in the capital’s Kallyanpur area on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Ripon, police said.
Quoting the locals, Mirpur Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salahuddin confirmed the matter and said that police recovered the body of Ripon from Kallayanpur Slum.
He said that, the body had been handed to the relatives of the victim after postmortem at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
The police official said the deceased had been suffering from mental derangement and several other complicated diseases for long.
Police is looking into the matter, the OC said.
