Police have recovered the body of a young man from the Meghna river near the Bhairab Railway bridge, Kishoreganj distict on Thursday noon.
However, the police could not reveal the identity of the person. The approximate age of the person is 30 to 32 years. He was wearing a black vest.
According to sources, the locals saw the body of the youth floating in the bridge area and informed the police. Upon receiving the news, the naval police went to the spot, recovered the body and brought it to the police station. The man had four bruises on his head.
Saidur Rahman, Officer in-charge (OC) in Bhairab Naval Police Station, said that his legs were tied and there were signs of multiple injuries on his head. The young man was probably killed on the previous day. Attempts are being made to identify the body.
The body was sent to Kishorganj general hospital morgue for an autopsy.
