On the basis of information, a team of RAB-4 arrested two youths from Saturia bus stand area of Manikganj on Tuesday morning on suspicion of being involved in yaba business. The arrested are Abir Hossain (23) and Arif Hossain (30) of Natuabari village in Dhamswar union of Daulatpurupazila of Manikganj. Among the detainees, Yabar was rescued from Ariar’s abdomen by X-ray.
Abir swallowed a packet of yaba to avoid being caught. Ariar’s stomach contained a packet of yaba wrapped in a balloon.
According to RAB-4 sources, Abir came to Saturia in Manikganj after swallowing yaba from Teknaf area of Cox’s Bazar on Monday. Members of RAB-4’s Manikganj office arrested Abir and Arif from Saturia bus stand area around 10 am on Tuesday on the basis of secret information. Arifwas waiting in the Saturia bus stand area.
Abir Hossain said that he bought 1,450 yaba from Teknaf and filled it with small polythene wrapped balloons and swallowed it with water. He was supposed to deliver these yaba to trader Arif for five thousand taka only. Earlier, 1,800 yaba were brought to Saturia in the same way. He later delivered it to a businessman in Manikganj.
Company Commander (ASP) UnuMong of RAB-4’s Manikganj office said that 70 yaba were extracted from Abir’s stomach. He said X-rays showed that the young man had yaba in his stomach. The process of removing these yaba from the stomach is underway at the District Sadar Hospital.
