Yaba, Indian fake currency seized in city: 2 held

Two teams of General Railway Police (GRP) and Customs Intelligence in separate drives arrested two persons, including a woman in city’s Kamalapur Railway Station and Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) respectively on Sunday morning.
The arrested persons have been identified as Shahida, 27, and Khalil Byapari, 35, hailing from Shariatpur district.
Kamalapur Railway Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Mazid confirmed the matter and said that the GRP police went to Kamalapur Railway Station following a secret information at about 9:00am and
saw Shahida while she was moving suspiciously at the platform. Then police searched her body and found 870 pieces of Yaba in her possession.
The police official said that police arrested Shahida along with the Yaba and being interrogated her in this connection
On the other hand, Mainul Khan, Director General (DG) of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department confirmed the matter and said that a team of Customs Intelligence conducted a drive following a secret information at HSIA around 9:30am and detained Khalil. They searched the Khalil’s bag and recovered fake Indian rupees 1.65 cr in his possession at that time.
