A Division bench of the High Court Division has rejected a writ petition (no. 363/2014) challenging the legality of the re-appointment of the Managing Director of Dhaka WASA Engr. Taqsem A Khan.
The writ was filed at the High Court Division by Engr. Md Arifur Rahman. But the Division bench constituted by Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice A B M Altaf Hossain rejected the petition on 17 April 2014 as being there was no legal merit in that writ petition.
On behalf of the Government Attorney General Mahbube Alam, on behalf of Dhaka WASA Barrister Shafiq Ahmed, Advocate A M Amin Uddin, Advocate Kamrunnesa Ratna & Advocate Munshi Moniruzzaman and on behalf of the petitioner Senior Advocate Mansurul Haque Chowdhury took part in the hearing.
It may be mentioned that, earlier Journalist Nizam Uddin (writ petition no.2156/2014) and Engr. Hasan Mahmud (writ petition no. 11408/2013) filed two petitions challenging the legality of the re-appointment of the Managing Director of Dhaka WASA.
But as being there was no legal merit in the writs, the Division bench constituted by Justice Sarah Mahmud & Justice Kazi Esarul Haque Akhand and Justice Naima Haider & Justice Zafar Ahmed rejected the petitions.
