A discussion and rally was held at the conference room of Chapainawabganj Adhunijk Sadar Hospital on Saturday on the occasion of world Health Day.
Dr. Nadim Sarkar, Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of Chapainawabganj Adhunijk Sadar Hospital presided over the programme where S.F.M. Khairul Ataturk, Civil Surgeon of Chapainawabganj was present as Chief Guest.
Dr. Shahidul Islam, junior consultant of surgery department of the hospital and Shamsunnahar, health and education officer was present, among others, at the programme.
S.F.M. Khairul Ataturk, Civil Surgeon of Chapainawabganj said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took an initiative to achieve sustainable development. She also opens community clinic to ensure health services. Thirty types of different medicine available there. He said, mostly poor people affected in diarrhoea because of their unawareness. At present, the condition of diarrhoea in Chapainawabganj under controlled. There is no one patients buy any medicine from outside and will not buy in future.
He also said, the longevity rate is 71.8 in Bangladeshi people, many mother and children are suffering from malnutrition for early marriage. Government has already opened health insurance card in a district as pilot project. Gradually this insurance card will be opened in this district.

The Civil Surgeon’s Office organised the discussion at its conference room marking the World Heath Day-2018 with the theme of ‘Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere’.
Divisional Director (Health) Dr Mostafizur Rahman attended it as the Chief Guest with Civil Surgeon Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam in the chair.
Assistant Divisional Director (Health) Dr Mahbub Hassan, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Abdul Mokaddem, Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Rabi Sankar Mandal also spoke.
The speakers highlighted various steps taken by the government, including rejuvenation of the community clinics to reach health services at the grassroots.
Rally, free blood camping and blood donation and health campaign were also arranged on the occasion.
Earlier, a rally was brought out that paraded the city streets.
