Minister for Roads and Bridges Obaidul Quader MP in a order cancelled the work order for expansion of the Oxygen-Hathazari 4-lane work due to non-completion of the expansion work within the scheduled time .
After visiting the expansion work of the raod physically yesterday morning, he ordered cancellation of the said workorder immediately. The minister told the journos that M/s. MS Builders was awarded with work order for the said expansion work and the contractor in the meantime granted additional time for completion of the work but the contractor failed to implement the work order within the extended period.
Mentionable that the Oxygen Hathazri road expansion work begasn in 2011 which was scheduled to be completed by 23 January 2013 but could not achieved desired goal and later the contractor again allowed more time upto March 2015 which was also failed by that period.
The amended budget of the road expansion wa Tk.226 crores, sources said.
