A woman and her grandson were killed when a bus knocked down them on Dhaka-Mawa highway at Ghorghar in Sreenagar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Salma Begum, 35, wife of Abdul Maley, an expatriate and her grandson Jisan, 2, son of Mokhles Mia of Kamarpara village in the upazila.
Mohammad Hasan, in-charge of Hashara Highway Police camp, said the accident took place in the area in the morning when the Mawa-bound bus ran over them while crossing the road, leaving Salma and Jisan critically injured.
