A woman and child were killed in separate incidents in Gafargaon Upazila on Saturday.
An old woman was killed after a battery-powered auto-rickshaw hit her and a 3 year old child was electrocated at Gafargaon under Mymensingh on Saturday evening on Kandipara- Maijbari Road .
For a long time a PDB service line was lying on the sidewalk in front of a Morol house in a Girls’ Primary School in Longair village.The villagers warned them many times but Palli Bidyut Department did not take the torn wear from the road. Sufia Begum wife of Sohel Mea of Longair village was going to neighbour’s house with 3 years old daughter and on the way she was electrocated. Then a 3 years old daughter Sinha in her lap also electrocated with her mother Sufia and eventually she died in her lap. Locals rescued Sufia and admitted her into Upazila Health Complex.
On the other hand, at the same time Jayeda Begum (65) ,wife of Kajim Uddin of Longair village was killed by battery run auto-rickshaw at Bangalkandi on Kandipara – Maijbari road.
An eye witness informed that at the time of crossing the road , a battery- run auto rickshaw from Kandipara towards Maijbari hit Jayeda Begum.
