A widow lodged case with Gournadi police station on early Saturday alleging that a youth violated her under arms entering inside home at Ashokathi under Gournadi municipal town.
Mahbubur Rahman, Officer -In- Charge ( Investigation) of the police station and investigation officer of the case, said police operating drives to arrest the accused rapist Razan Khan, 31, of that area and the victim, 26, sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital on Saturday noon.
In the case it was alleged that the parents of the victim went to attend a marriage ceremony of a relative locking the victim in the home at about 10:30 pm Friday.
However neighboring youth Razan Khan taking that chance opening the lock went inside that house and violated the victim forcibly under arms.
After 11:30 PM when the parents of the victim returned home, the accused rapist after awaking about that managed to flee from the scene.
The local people hearing hue and cry, rushed to the spot and chased the accused rapist, but failed to nab him.
