Webinar on centenary of Chinese Communist Party held

A group of speakers have said that Bangladesh can attract more investment to exhilarate its economic development from China as both countries are maintaining a good friendship for long time.
They said this at a webinar programme titled ‘Hundredth founding anniversary of China Communist Party and free discussion on China-Bangladesh Diplomatic Relations’ organised by Bangladesh-China Cultural Academy on Monday.
As the Chief Guest, former diplomat and Vice-Chancellor of University of Dhaka, Professor Dr Anwar Ullah Chowdhury said, Bangladesh-China friendship has lasted a long time. Bangladesh has opportunity to attract more Chinese investment by using the friendship.
He said, Atisa Dipankara is the greatest Bengali personalities in nation’s history of thousand years who brought Buddhism to Bengal and helped to spread it from Tibet to Sumatra.
He said no religion is discriminatory. Forgetting all differences, Bangladesh expects more Chinese investment in building a prosperous Bangladesh in the future. Hopefully that expectation will be even stronger, he added.
Presided over by senior journalist writer and researcher poet Abdul Hai Sikder and conducted by Humayun Kabir Bepari, General Secretary of Bangladesh-China Cultural Academy, the webinar was addressed by Brigadier General (Retd.) Hasan Nasir, DU Professor Dr Sukomal Barua, Mostafa Kamal Majumder, Editor-in-charge The New Nation, DU Professor Dr Lutfar Rahman, KU Professor Dr Rezaul Karim, RU Professor Dr Iftekharul Alam Masud, Colonel (Retd) Shahadat Hossain, Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Sarwar Hossain, CU Professor Shah Alam, Imranul Haque Chakladar, Vice-President Bangladesh-China Cultural Academy, Nahidul Khan Sahel, Vice-President Bangladesh-China Cultural Academy.
