The Walton Smart Fridge-DRU Media Cup Football Tournament begins on March 15 at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium. The football meet will be held under auspices of Walton Group.
A total of 48 media houses will take part in the football competition for the reporters.
The champions will be awarded Tk forty thousand and a trophy, while the runners-up will get Tk twenty thousand and a trophy. Besides, the most disciplined team will be given Fair Play trophy and the highest scorer will get attractive prize-money.
Sports Secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Mojibur disclosed this information at a press conference held at the Sagar-Runi Auditorium in DRU on Monday. President of DRU Rafiqul Islam Azad, General Secretary of DRU Riaz Chowdhury and Executive Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn answered the questions of the reporters during the conference.
Former General Secretary of DRU Raju Ahmed, Finance Secretary of DRU Ziaul Haque Sabuj, Organising Secretary Habibur Rahman, Entertainment Secretary HM Akhter, Executive Member SM Mizan, Executive Member and Member Secretary of Sports Sub-Committee Mainul Hasan were present at the conference, among others.
Journalists from 48 media houses will take part in the six-a-side football meet.
