The Walton-DRU Media Cup Football Tournament will begin on August 28 at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium.
Marking the upcoming football meet, a press conference was held at the Sagar-Runi
Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Tuesday.
Dhaka Reporters Unity will arrange the football competition under auspices of Walton Group.
Sports Secretary of DRU Mojibur Rahman disclosed all the matters related to the football tournament.
President of DRU Jamal Uddin presided over the press conference.
Head of Sports & Welfare Department of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, General Secretary of DRU Raju Ahmed, Cultural Secretary of DRU Monitul Islam, Member Secretary of the Tournament Committee Kazi Shahidul Alam were present at the conference.
A total of 34 teams including national dailies, news agencies, online media and satellite television channels will take part in the football meet.
The champions will be awarded Tk forty thousand and a trophy, the runners-up will get Tk twenty thousand and a trophy.
The trophy unveiling programme and the jersey unveiling programme were also held at the Auditorium on the same day.
Besides, Man of the Tournament and the Man of the Matches will be given award from the sponsor organization.
The most disciplined team will be awarded Fair Play Trophy.
It may be mentioned that after six years, DRU will arrange the football competition for the reporters.
