The family members of the deceased in the Holey Artisan Café attack have demanded immediate execution of the death convicts as per jail code after completing the formalities.
Mohammad Ali Khan, brother of deceased Banani Police Station ex-Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salauddin Khan, has asserted that the day (July 1) should be marked as Anti-Militancy Day.
Shocked by his brother’s death, Mohammad Ali told it to the reporters at their ancestral home in the Bankpara area of Gopalganj city on Wednesday.
Calling on the citizens to take a stand against militancy and terrorism, he said, “My brother gave his life while fighting the militants during the Holey Artisan attack.”
He further said, “The militants attacked the café to destabilise the government, therefore militancy needs to be rooted out. Terrorism and militancy are not just an internal issue of Bangladesh, but a worldwide phenomenon.”
Salauddin’s eldest brother Rajiuddin Khan Raju expressed his satisfaction at the verdict delivered in the case filed over Holey Artisan terror attack.
The family of Detective Branch of Police’s Assistant Commissioner Rabiul Karim wants immediate execution of the verdict in the Holey Artisan Café attack case.
Rabiul Karim was killed during the 12-hour standoff on July 1 at the Holey Artisan Café.
Talking to our Savar correspondent, Umme Salma, wife of AC Rabiul, Cooked happy at the verdict and said “I want immediate execution of the verdict.”
She thanked the government as well as police administration for their efforts in locating the criminals involved in the attack.
Meanwhile, Rabiul’s brother Shamsuzzaman Shams urged the government to take initiatives in remembrance of the victims.
The five gunmen, who held the diners hostage and were killed inside the upscale bakery in a commando operation launched to end the siege, are Nibrash Islam, Mir Sabeh Mubashir and Rohan Ibne Imtiaz, Khairul Islam Payel and Shafiqul Islam Uzzal.
Shamsuzzaman Shams, the younger brother of Assistant Commissioner Rabiul Karim, who died in a grenade attack by militants who stormed Gulshan’s Holey Artisan restaurant, has expressed satisfaction at the decision to hang seven living suspects in the grisly attack.
“We got the verdict that we expected. This is an exemplary decision,” Shams told reporters on the court premises.
