A night guard was killed cutting niche by a group of dacoits on Saturday night under Dupchanchia municipality ares of Bogra district and looted gold and silver from jewelry.
The miscreant left behind the weapons like sharp knife, a slender of gas and hammer of iron cutting that has been used in the incident
The deceased was identified as Mozaher Hossain, 60, son of late Ismail Hossain Joypurpara village under Dupchanchia upazila of the district.
Officer-in-charge of Dupchanchia police station Nazrul Islam said, the miscreant enter into the new market nearby upazila administration on the deep night and looted a total six gram of gold and 50 gram silver Tk worth 4 lakhs as well as some cash from Maksuada jewelry in Samsudding new market.
Later, assistant police super (B-Circle) Alamgir Hossain and Police Super Asaduzzaman visited the spot hearing the incident with a team of police on Sunday. A murder case was lodged with the police station in this connection.
