The body of UNHCR official was found in the Bay of bengal on Thursday morning.
The deceased was an Ethiopian national, serving in Cox’s Bazar as a Protection Officer of United Nations High-Commission for Refuge (UNHCR), the UN Refugee Agency, over a year.
The victim’s body was handed over to the police station.
Few documents and some money were recovered from the deceased’s possession.
The UNHCR official used to live in residential hotel ‘Meghaloy’ in Kolatoli of the town, Afruzul Huq Tutul, Additional Superintendent of Police confirmed the news to media.
He went missing on Monday morning, added the ASP.
