A doyen in the field of journalism, Manik Mia fought persistently against all odds and adversities for the emancipation of common people.
The speakers came up with the remarks while speaking at the discussion held at the Hotal Est and marking Manik Mia’s 46th death anniversary.
Sylhet Central Writers’ forum organised the discussion. Former Principal of Narsingdi Govt Collage Mohammad Ali attended the discussion and Doa Mahfil as chief guest with Narsingdi correspondent of Daily Ittefaq and ex president Nibaran Roy in the chair. The speakers said Manik Miah was the active journalist and also the eminent politician of the subcontinent He was a close compainon of Hosyan Shaheed Suhrawardy. Manik Miah was active in writing against military rule, autocracy and violation of the fundamental rights of people. After the discussion a Doa Mahfil was held there.
