Two people were killed and a minor girl was injured critically when the water tank of a house collapsed on them in Godnail Noyapara area of Siddhirganj upazila on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Jharna Begum, 55 and Abdur Rob, 60, while the injured as Suraiya Akhter Sikha, 7.
The cement-made water tank of the house, owned by Mohammad Ali, fell on them around 1pm, leaving the trio critically injured, said Wasim, son of Jharna.
All the victims were tenants of Mohammad Ali’s house.
Later, the injured were rushed to Khanpur-300-bed Hospital where doctors declared Jharna dead. Meanwhile, Abdur Rob died on way to Dhaka Medical Hospital.
Alauddin, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj police station, confirmed the incident.
