At least two construction workers killed and another one hospitalised on Tuesday morning after infected by poisonous gas while clearing safety tank at Taltali area at northern part of Barishal.
Golam Kabir, investigation officer in charge of Kawnia police station, acknowledging the facts the dead victims were identi fied as Harunor Rashid, 35, of Mukundapatty and Rakib alias Rafik , 30, of Habinagor of Shayestabad. The injured victim Md. Nasir, 30, of the Tatali area admitted in critical condition at Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Md. Alauddin, senior station officer of Barishal fire service station, said when Harun and Rafik went down to clearing safety tank of the sanitari latrine of house owned by Sultan Farazi at Kazibari in Sapania of Taltali on Tuesday morning became sick by poisonous gas. Hearing their hue and cry when Nasir went to rescue them, he also became sick by that poisonous gas.
After local people informed fire service, they rushed to the spot and recoved Harun and Rakib dead and Nasir alive but severely sick.
All of them sent to Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital and dead victis sento morgue for autopsy and alive on Nasir admitted at the hospital, the fire service official told.
