Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in a drive arrested two people including a female with 700 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from city’s Bakalia area in the early hours of Wednesday.
The arrested were identified as Mohammad Ishak, 35, and Mahmuda Begum, 25, both hailed from Taqnaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
Police nabbed Ishak and Mahmuda from a Dhaka-bound passengers’ bus At about 1.30 am in Bakalia Shah Amanat Bridge area and seized the contraband drugs from their possession, said Mohammad Abul Monsure, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bakalia thana.
