Two held with bombs, suicidal vests

At least four bombs and two suicidal vests were recovered from near a suspected militant hideout at Chuadanga village in Sadar upazila of Jhenidah district on Tuesday morning.
The law enforcers found the bombs and vests in one of the two suspected militant hideouts in the area.
The RAB also arrested two suspected members of the JMB during the raid from the den. They are house owners Md Selim and Rezaul Islam Pranto.
Selim, son of Aftabuddin, is the elder brother of Tuhin who was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police in Moheshpur upazila of the district, while Pranto is son of one Motiar Rahman.
RAB-6 Commanding Officer and Additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Khandkar Rafiqul Islam said this in a press briefing at about 1:00pm on Tuesday.
 “Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB cordoned off two ‘militant hideouts’ adjacent to a camp of RAB-6 at the village and started their operation around 11:50am, the RAB official said.
They are suspecting that huge cache of arms and explosives are stocked there, RAB said.
Major Monir Ahmed, Commanding Officer of RAB-6, said, “Law enforcers cordoned off the house of Selim and Pranto around 12:30am and they began the operation at about 11:10am with the bomb disposal team and recovered the bombs and suicidal vests near Selim’s house.”
We have recovered five bombs, two dynamite vests and some 15 to 20 different types of electrical circuits near Selim’s house, he said.
Earlier on May 7, two militants, including Tuhin, died in a raid into a suspected militant hideout at Bojrapur village in of the district. Three police officials were injured injured in the incident.
