Kurigram Chief Judicial court granted remand of two police constables and a source of DB police in charge of abduction of one Maidul Islam an NGO official on Sunday.
Police applied for remand when they were taken to the court at noon on Sunday and their bail petition was submitted.
Police sources said the court granted remand for one day of DB constable Atukuzzaman and two days of court police constable Mamunur Rashid and source of DB Monu Miah.
Earlier police recorder speech of Maidul Islam on May 03.Police constable Shah Alam constable of the court is absconding after the incident. Two constables including the absconding constable were temporarily suspended from the service.
It is mentioned here that three constables and their source Monu Miah picked up Maidul Islam and demanded one lakh taka as ransom. His younger brother Liton paid Tk 10 thousand through Bikash and informed the matter to Kurigram sadar thana police at night on Wednesday. Police also arrested them at night. Liton filed a case with Sadar thana police. Police sent them to jail.
