Tributes paid to architect Shah Altaf Hossain

Colleagues, friends, family members and admirers have described freedom fighter architect Shah Altaf Hossain as a man with a clean heart, having utmost devotion for humanity and profession, as they rallied in a memorial meeting week after he embraced death.
Emotions gripped the virtual discussion as his school and university friends, neighbours, colleagues and family members recalled his virtues as a human being and his affection and love for them alongside his professional pursuits.
Shah Altaf Hossain, a renowned architect of the country who joined the Liberation War at the age of 17 only, passed away on April 7 at a hospital in the capital at the age of 66.
Hossain, who completed his graduation in Architecture from BUET in 1979, was widely considered as the leading expert in dome construction in Bangladesh and designed and constructed the largest glass dome in the country for the Military Academy in Chittagong.
