About 10 persons went missing as a trawler carrying 45 passengers capsized in Sitalakkhya River at Mulgaon area under Kaliganj upzila on Sunday afternoon.
Police said about 35 workers of Pran-RFL managed to reach the shore by swimming.
A combined rescue team of police, fire service and Navy divers has been conducting massive search to find out any possible victim from the river till the time of filing of this report at 7:30mpm yesterday. Officer-in Charge of Kaliganj Police Station said, “About 45 passengers boarding a trawler were going from Kaliganj municipal area to Bhanga area of Palash. It was suddenly hot by two sand laden trawlers coming from opposite direction. The passenger carrying trawler sank due to accident.”
