Suspected drug peddlers mugged a trader at Chaugachha upazila headquarters in Jashore district around 10am on Wednesday.
The victim, Ashok Kumar Sarker, owner of Ashok Cloth Store at Chaugachha upazila headquarters, in a case filed with Chaugachha police station, alleged that drug dealers Tushar Biswas and Bishwajit Kundu mugged his money and other valuables after beating him at his business outlet around 10am on Wednesday when
he refused to give them Tk 10,000 as an extortion for Katyani Puja. `The two are drug dealers,’ he alleged.
The victim was given first aid, the victim said.
Rifat Khan Rajib, officer in-charge, Chaugachha police station told that he received a complaint regarding this.
