Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal has said that journalists are the conscience of the society, as they works for wellbeing of people as well as the country in many hazardous conditions.
“Journalists played a very important role during the War of Liberation in 1971,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at installation ceremony of newly elected committee of Luxmipur Press Club here on Saturday.
Kamal said journalists had inspired people to raise voice against Pakistani occupation publishing news and airing programmes globally through newspapers and Betar.
The minister also urged the newsmen to be very careful before releasing news so that it (The news) doesn’t become harmful to the state as well as a innocent ones.
