POEMS: To a bird of Freedom

block

-M. Mizanur Rahman

Bird, you fly unfettered and stay at my heart
and when you fly away at your own will,
none can take away your heart and soul
anyway.
What the illusions of light and shade, day
and night, afternoon and the fall of dusk
that they come and go but I hardly know
from where they come and where they go!
None can touch or catch
their come and go;
They come and go as usual and leave behind
the light and shade.
There are innumerable planets and stars
and within them there’s the ball of fire is the sun
that gives us various rays!
While heat and light work various ways
and the cold moon at night
flood its light everywhere on earth.
There are ebb and tide at sea, clouds play
its role overwhelming the sky, the raining
as well takes part in its play.
On earth there are human beings, animals,
Trees, mountains and hills and the waves
of life and death!
This life remains in your immortal entity;
Hence, who would provide me
with so much freedom other than you?
