A female student of Government Titumir College was killed when a bus rammed a motorcycle on Hanif Flyover near Saidabad bus terminal area in the capital on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Sadia Afrin, 22, a third year student of Marketing Department of the college. She comes from Mohanganj upazila of Netrokona. She used to live in a rented house in Jatrabari.
Witnesses said, the victim was returning home riding a motorcycle with her brother-in-law Nazmul.
As soon as their bike reached the flyover at about 4:30pm, a bus hit it and the other throwing them off the motorbike. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Nazul also sustained some injuries and is now undergoing treatment in a hospital, said DMCH police outpost in-charge Bachchu Mia.
Confirming the matter, Jatrabari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Maharul Islam said, driver of the bus was arrested.
