Bangladesh National Cricket team will face New Zealand National Cricket team in the 2nd Twenty20 International match at Mount Maunganui in New Zealand today. The match begins at 8.00 am BST (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Earlier, the touring Bangladesh lost to New Zealand by six wickets in the first Twenty20 International match at Napier in New Zealand on January 3.
Hard-hitter batsman of Bangladesh Sabbir Rahman said, ” The total performance of the team is very important to win the match. We have to play according to the situation.”
Sabbir said, ” I am trying to play big innings. I hope I shall perform well in the rest of the matches. I think if we want to win the match, the three departments (batting, bowling, fielding) should perform well.”
He said, ” We have come here to play a better brand of cricket. We could not win in the previous matches. We focus rest of the two matches. We shall try our best to win the rest of the matches.”
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Thursday the 15-member squad for 2nd and 3rd Twenty20 International Cricket matches against New Zealand.
The players, who have been chosen, are: Masrafe Bin Mortaza (Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarker, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan (Vice- Captain), Mosaddek Hossain Saikot, Rubel Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shuvagata Hom, Shubashis Roy, Taijul Islam, Nurul Hasan Sohan (Wicketkeeper).
The 15-member New Zealand squad: KS Williamson (Captain), CJ Anderson, TA Boult, TC Bruce, C de Grandhomme, LH Ferguson, MJ Guptill, MJ Henry, C Munro, JDS Neesham, L Ronchi (Wicketkeeper), MJ Santner, IS Sodhi, BM Wheeler, GH Worker.
