Sabbir Hossain :In a short but electrifying match against Nepal, Tigers won theICC World T20 match yesterday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium in Chittagong by 8 wickets with 27 balls remaining in hand.Nepal earlier scored 126 run for five wickets in allotted 20 overs setting the stage for Tigers. Nepal started the game with batting first.Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque, the two openers of Bangladesh made a solid start contributing 63 runs in the opening stand before Tamim was caught at the short third man by Sagar Pun off Basant Regmi.Anamul Haque notched up 42 from 33 balls with five fours and Tamim Iqbal scored 30 off 22 balls amid two fours.Earlier, Nepal made a disastrous start losing early three wickets for 39 runs.Then Paras Khadka and Sharad Vesawkar repaired the damage adding together 85 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Khadka was cleanly bowled out by pacer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza when Nepal’s total was 124 for the loss of four wickets.After the departure of Khadka, Sharad’s could stay at the crease for a short time. After one over of the dismissal of Khadka, Sharad was run out by wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim in the last ball of the 20th over.Paras Khadka hit a captain’s knock of 41. His 35-ball sparkling innings was laced with five boundaries.Sharad Vesawkar made 40. His 43-ball fighting innings was studded with five fours.Pacer Al-Amin Hossain bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 17 runs while pacers Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Farhad Reza picked up one wicket each for 23 and 27 runs respectively.
