As expected, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai has taken a humongous opening. Whoever said Salman mania has faded after the rejection of Tubelight, it’s time take back the words. Tiger Zinda Hai is roaring loud on its opening day.
Looking at the way the advance of the film was going, trade pundits had predicted a massive opening. And that’s what happened.
The theatres were packed to the capacity from the morning shows itself. Fans are loving everything about the film. Salman is in super fine form and Katrina is dazzling as ever. People are also appreciating the tight screenplay and action sequences of the film.
Here’s what our review had to say about the film – “It may look like a Hollywood action thriller, but at its heart, Tiger Zinda Hai is an unabashed masala movie. Director Ali Abbas Zafar has crafted a superb action movie with some pretty strong moments.
The best of the lot deal with India and Pakistan rivalry and camaraderie.
It’s good to see an action film that slows down momentarily to show some insight. This one’s definitely a smart watch.”
Coming to the figures, the film is expected to mint over Rs. 35 crore on day one. It’s for sure the biggest opener of the year and if the night shows perform better, the film has the chance to touch Rs. 40 crore and become the highest non-holiday opener of all time.
The glowing reviews have filled the trade with joy and it’s sure that the film will cross the 100 crore mark by Sunday. Monday being a holiday will also prove to be a big advantage for the film.
