Thrust on public action to combat drug sbuse

Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Editor of The Daily Observer on Friday said that menace of drug addiction in the country turned more serious than before. He called upon the people to become conscious about the curse of drug.
Iqbal Sobhan suggested a united fight against this kind of social degeneration in the greater interest of the nation.
He said this while speaking at a meeting as Chief Guest held under the auspices of Bangladesh Human Rights Commission on DC Hill premises in the afternoon.
Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury also called upon the people to come forward for making the country free from social degeneration with a healthy children community as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He expressed the view that the youth community could help build up Bangladesh as a middle income country. He said, “If the youth community comes forward, Bangladesh will turn into a developed nation by 2041.”
Presided over by M Abed Ali the meeting was addressed, among others, by Abu Sufian, former President of Chittagong Press Club, Mesbahuddin, DC of Chittagong, CDA Chairman Abdus Salam, Syed Sirajul Islam Kamu, and Masum Chowdhury.
