Kotwali police in a raid at a student mess at Sheikhhati under Jashore sadar upazila arrested three students of Jashore Polytechnic Institute and recovered arms from their possessions on Tuesday dead night.
Golam Rabbani, additional superintendent of police, Jashore said the arrested are Taufiq Islam, second year student of electrical engineering, Abu Hena Rokon of 4th year of the same department and Rafiun of second year of computer engineering at Jashore Polytechnic Institute.
The police official also said that the police recovered a shotgun, a one shooter gun, five round of bullets, five crude bombs, five sharp weapons, nine iron rods, one bottle of wine, five empty bottles of wine, 100 pieces of Yaba pills, some cannabis and two motorbikes in the raid carried out at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday.
Moniruzzaman, officer in-charge, Kotwali police station told Newsmen on Wednesday afternoon that a case was being registered with Kotali police in this connection.
