Tens of thousands of devotees are taking part in the regional level Jessore venue Ijtema was kicked off after Fazr prayers at New Town field on Thursday .
Visiting the venue it was seen that fields of Upashahar College, King Faisal Institute and Shapla Kindergarten School and adjacent areas were filled up with devotees. Devotees were continued coming at the Ijtima venue till Thursday evening.
Engineer Raushan Monir, Maulana Abdul Bar and Maulana Monir delivered speeches on the first day of the Ijtema.
Talking to New Nation, Shafin Mahmud, assistant superintendent of police, Jessore told that some 200 law enforcement agency men were deployed at the venue. They will perform their duties at 20 points. ‘Some 2000 volunteers will also be engaged there to held the devotees,’ he added.
