Popular group theatre, Theatre will organise a week-long festival titled Theatre Soptaho 2015 from December 4 to 10.
The festival will be inaugurated by Emeritus Professor Dr Anisuzzaman at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the city’s Segunbagicha area on December 4.
The opening ceremony will be held at 6:00pm. On the opening day of the festival late Abdullah Al Mamun’s play Kokilara will be staged at 7:30pm.
Meanwhile, Munier Chowdhury Honour and Mohammad Jakaria Memorial Award will be also given on that day. Maya Nod, Kuhokjaal, Muktodhara, Payer Awaj Pawa Jai, Baramkhana and Meraj Fakirer Maa are scheduled to be staged from December 5 to 10 respectively.
Therefore, a discussion titled ‘40 years of Theatre magazine’ will be held at Seminar Room of BSA on December 10 at 4:00pm. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP will be present as chief guest in the discussion.
This was announced at a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity on Wednesday where ITI President Ramendu Mazumder, theatre activist Apon Ahsan and director Maruf Kabir, among others, were present on the occasion.
