A teenage girl was killed while her mother fell seek after their alleged attempt to commit suicide by taking poison following a family feud at Kalshi Dhighir Par in Bandar thana here on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Khadiza Akter Meem, 13, daughter of Khokan Bepari, a resident of the area and hailing from Babuganj, Barisal.
Quoting locals, Abdul Gafur, sub-inspector of Bandar Police Station, said Khokan Bepari, a garment worker, had gone on a picnic in Cox’s Bazar with his fellows on Friday morning, leaving his wife Aklima Begum and daughter Meem at the house.
In the evening, getting no response from the house of Khokon, neighbous informed the matter to police.
