A Dhaka court has sent a madrasa teacher to jail after rejecting two petitions-one for bail and another for remand.
Earlier, Mohammadpur Police produced the teacher in the court on Tuesday morning with remand prayer, said Jamaluddin Mir, Officer-in Charge (OC) of the police station.
Police picked up the teacher on Sunday night on charge of violating a 14-year old boy for several times in the capital’s Mohammadpur area.
The arrested man has been identified as Shafiqul Islam, 35, a Senior Teacher of Quaderia Tayebiya Madrasah in Mohammadpur, the police official said.The student of the madrasah fell sick because of violation. Learning it, a police team went to the victim’s house by which time he was admitted to the DMCH, the OC said.
Receiving allegation from the victim’s elder brother, police arrested Shafiqul for inquiry in this connection.
A case was filed in this connection, he said.
