the second one-dayer held on Thursday at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar.
Chasing a winning target of 196 runs set by Ireland, Bangladesh, rode on Tanvir Haider’s unbeaten 61-run knock, reached home in 46.3 overs with three wickets in hand.
Tanvir hit eight boundaries during his 91 balls stay on the crease to secure Bangladesh victory along with Abul Hasan (10 n.o), after Bangladesh slipped 5 for 113.
Skipper Nazmul Hossain (44) and opener adman Islam (24) the other notable batsmen for the hosts. Jacob Mulder was the pick of Ireland blower as he claimed 3 for 42 runs. He was well supported by George Dockrell who bagged two for 2 for 41 runs.
Tanvir Hiader of Bangladesh was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
Earlier, Sanzamul Islam grabbed 4 for 33 runs to restrict Ireland A to a 195 for all after they opted to bat first.
Simi Singh top scored with 33 runs for Ireland while opener James Shanon and one down John Anderson top added 27 each, as the visitors failed to build any effective partnership in the face of tight bowling display by the hosts.
Skipper Stuart Poynter (25) and middle order batsmen George Dockrell (18) were the other notable batsmen for the Irish.
Apart from Sanzamul’s four wickets haul, Abul Hasan supported him with 3 for 25 runs.
The third one-dayer between the two sides will be held on Saturday at the same venue.
Earlier, the first match was washed out due to inclement weather.
