A court here on Sunday rejected the bail petition of suspended Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haque
Chowdhury in an explosion case filed in connection with the killing of ex-Finance Minister SAMS Kibria.
District and Session Judge M Atabullah passed the order after hearing on a bail petition submitted by
the lawyer of Ariful Haque.
However, on November 13 last year CID submitted a supplementary charge-sheet against 32 people, including former State Minister for Home Lutfozzaman Khan Babar, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s political secretary Harris Chowdhury and Sylhet City Corporation mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, in the ex-Finance Minister SAMS Kibria murder case. On December 31 Ariful Haque Chowdhury surrendered before the court.
