The Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh, Alexandra Berg von Linde paid a courtesy call on the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Thursday at the latter’s JS office.
During the meeting, the issues related to the celebration of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence, the Covid-19 situation, the current status of the Covid-19 vaccine, the development of bilateral relations, Bangladesh’s progress in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate change and environmental protection came up in the discussion.
Terming Sweden as an old and worthy friend of Bangladesh, the Speaker said that Bangladesh’s bilateral relation with Sweden is very strong.
She hoped that the bilateral relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the future. Alexandra Berg von Linde said the steps taken by Bangladesh to tackle climate change and efforts to keep the wheel of Bangladesh’s economy active amid the COVID-19 are very commendable. The ambassador hoped that this trend of progress in Bangladesh will continue. Senior officials of the parliament secretariat were also present on the occasion.
