A small ship (bulkhead) laden with stones sank near Bandar Channel. The rear of the ship sank near Patenga beach around 10am on Wednesday.
Then the port’s tugboat ‘Kandari’ rushed to the spot. An official of the port that the name of the sunken small ship is ‘Insaf-2’. The lighter ship was hit by a rock on the way to shore and crashed.
The rescuer then sends a small barge to the owner. He tried all day but could not rescue the sunken ship. Nabi Alam, joint general secretary of Bangladesh Shipping Workers Federation, that when he returned at noon, he saw the bulkhead being rescued told.
All the sailors of the ship were rescued safely. Hopefully the rescue will be possible by Thursday. In this case, there is no problem for ships to come and go in the port.
