Stocks slightly up with recovery on large cap securities

The Stock markets in both Dhaka and Chittagong were slightly up on Tuesday with a trend of recovery as the major indices have been found finishing upwards with higher transaction of some large-cap securities.
The broader DSEX index of DSE closed the day with 7.93 points up at 4801.24. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 7.27 points up at 1,775.34 and 5.11 points up at 1140.34.
The mere rise of the price indices was based on the trading of high equity scrips. Out of the day’s traded 317 issues, 257 were from the large-cap group. Ninety-five issued of this group advanced out of the day’s total 131 gaining ones, Another 95 scrips from this category suffered losses while the total losing issues on DSE was 122.
The day’s turnover was dominated by large-cap stocks as eight out of the top 10 turnover leaders were from this high-cap group.
Lafarge Surma Cement topped the turnover leaders followed by Golden Harvest, Bangladesh Building System, Orion Pharma and Quasem Drycell.
The trade value at DSE declined to Taka 630.58 crore from Tuesday’s Taka 808.06 crore when the trade volume was down to20.14 crore from 29.64 crore shares of the last session.
