State Minister for Youth and Sports Md Zahid Ahsan Russel has said that the incumbent government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken initiative to enact laws to protect the rights of media workers in building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh.
“The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken initiatives to formulate laws to protect the rights of media workers aiming to build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh. If this law is implemented, the professional dignity and rights of journalists and media workers will be protected properly,” he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion titled ‘Celebration of the golden jubilee of the country’s great independence and the first armed resistance on March 19, 1971’ on the occasion of congratulating the newly elected committee of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and the annual general meeting of Gazipur Union of Journalists (GUJ) at a restaurant in Gazipur on the sixteenth instant.
