UNB, Dhaka :
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday said the results of the SSC and its equivalent examinations would have been much better if the examinees were not affected due to hartal and blockade enforced by BNP-Jamaat alliance.
“Examinees faced serious trouble during the SSC exams due to the frequent shifting of their exams. Otherwise, the overall results would have been much better,” she said.
The Prime Minister came up with the remarks while speaking at SSC results handing over ceremony at her official residence Ganabhaban. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid formally handed over the results of the 10 Education Boards to the Prime Minister.
“I hoped that the results would be better than then the previous year. The results were not as much as I expected due to the blockade and hartals enforced by BNP-Jamaat alliance,” she said.
She also said that the 87.04 percent pass rate is a great achievement considering the obstructions caused by the destructive politics of the BNP-Jamaat alliance during the exam period.
Issuing a strong warning to BNP-Jamaat alliance not to play with the fate of people of the country, the Prime Minister categorically said whoever wants to play with the fate of the people will not be spared and shown any mercy.
