Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bangla New Year- 1422, was celebrated on Southern University Bangladesh campus in Chittagong on Tuesday amid traditional festivity with much enthusiasm.
The day welcomed with the tune of classic Bangla song “Esho Hay Baishakh Esho Esho”. include colourful processions (Mangal Shovajatra), musical programmes, discussions and fairs.
The Chairman of Southern University Trustee Board Al-haj Khalilur Rahman inaugurated the ceremony where founder Sarwar Jahan, Dean of Business Administration Prof Dr. Abdul Muktadir, Head of Business Administration Mrs. Ishrat Jahan, Head of Civil Engineering Department Prof. Engr. Ali Ashraf and Registrar Dr. Mantazul Islam Chowdhury also present with among others. In his short massage to the students Al-haj Khalilur Rahman said, ‘You must need proper guideline for your study, only a good guideline can make your work easy from others and take you ahead in the race. Proper study and good guideline is the key of success in your student life. So do some hard work and achieve any goal in future. Southern University believes in quality education.’
He also said, the New Year is a new opening, a new anticipation, hope every life filled with delight, happiness and wealth.
