In a major reshuffle, the government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to six districts, including Dhaka.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification in this regard on Thursday.
Tofazzal Hossain Mia, the DC of Comilla, has been made the DC of Dhaka, while the DC of Dhaka-Sheikh Yusuf Harun-has been transferred to the Ministry of Education as its joint secretary.
Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, the DC of Faridpur, has been made the DC of Narsingdi, Sarder Sharafat Ali, the DC of Chapainawabganj, has been appointed as the DC of Faridpur.
Rajbari DC Mohammad Hasanuzzaman has been made the DC of Comilla.
Deputy Director of the Urban Public and Environment Health Sector Rafiqul Islam Khan has been made the DC of Rajbari, while deputy secretary of the Local Government Department Jahangir Kabir made the DC of Chapainawabganj.
